We are Finally in Guangzhou

Well we finished up in Zhengzhou and were glad to leave.  There was just not a lot to do there.  But our reps from CCAI Yisha and Rita were wonderful! I welled up with some tears as we said our goodbyes at the airport and gave big hugs!  Yisha got Grace some cough medicine for us while we were there (which her cough is now gone) and Rita translated Grace's scrapbook for us from the Angel House.  We hung low the final day there just took some walks in the park.  Funny thing we were walking in the park our last night there and in our lap around the river we heard the theme song from "Titanic"  I thought "no way" we looked over the river and there was probably 30 people doing arobic dance all in sync to the music.  We were doing great til we went to go out the gate we came into the park right behind the hotel and it was locked. Panic hit for a moment as we thought of sleeping river side.  We ended up finding another exit and walking the block on the street back to the hotel.  Our last day we just did a last walk in the park and last play in the hotel playroom and packed up. Photos today are of some scenes from the park, 1) the apartments that back up to the park 2) the excercise equipment (this is their YMCA, packed with people exercising in the early evening) 3) massages (yes massages given right there on the table in the park) and 4) a dog that we tripped out on, big chow shaved like a lion.  We all met in the hotel at 2:00pm to head to the airport to fly out to Guangzhou at 4:30.  It made for a long day. Not to our hotel until almost 9:00pm.  Grace only had a 30 minute nap on the bus to the airport.  She was great!  Just wide open!  She did manage to flip Guy's Sprite on him on the plane.  All we could do was laugh and she thought she was quit funny too!  She did not even wait for luggage or bath before she crawled up beside me in the bed, with a bottle under one arm and her sippy cup under the other and went to sleep.  Guy found a Subway and I felt like I had a little piece of heaven.  They also have a Papa Johns and a Starbucks.

Hotel here is nice, rooms a little small, but we will make it.  It is more "western". We are on Shamian Island so lots of shopping and walking around we can do.  Our hotel is on the Pearl River so it is very pretty especially at night when all lite up.  You see a lot of American's here with Chinese babies because all have to come through Guangzhou to get the child's visa.  That is neat.

We got up this morning early and walked to get all the babies Visa photo taken, then walked to get their physcials. Guy chose to stay back and take all our laundry to get done so we would have back by tonight.  Grace was not to found of the doctor's.  I think with her history she has seen one too many of them.  She did okay and just clung tight to me.  All checked out fine.  But the poor thing has to have SEVEN immunizations.  That meant FOUR today.  One in each arm and one in each leg.  One of the dads' and his sweet little girl stood with me because I was struggling.  I just know her fear and her track record and that she trusts me and wouldn't understand that I was doing this for her best interest (though if my choice would do when get home but Hauge requires it here).  I welled up with tears thinking she was going to wonder why I was holding her down for them to hurt her.  I ended up doing okay while they did it though.  She of course cried big crocodile tears but I had just what she needed afterwards M&Ms and she was smiling at that and managed to eat them all.  No reactions so far.  Pray we stay strong,  we have 3 more to get on Monday.  We went to lunch after and she was being her normal silly self so all is good.  Napping now....and I am heading down while she and Guy sleep to meet with our CCAI reps here to get our Consulate paperwork together.  The rest of the afternoon after the meeting and nap will be free to walk around  the island and maybe do a little shopping.

P.S. For some reason pictures not wanting to upload for us been trying a while some some photos I did not upload will try again later.
