Sugar Cookies and Friends

The kids enjoyed making sugar cookies over at Michelle's and icing and decorating them. I will say the big boys played outside almost the entire time coming in long enough to enjoy a bowl of soup or chicken and dumplins and decorate enough cookies to eat at the moment, but all had a great time! Thanks for having us all over Michelle..memories created!

Pig Tails and Headbands

Well Grace loved her pig tails this morning but thought it was even funnier to pull them out and put on Mommy's headband! She is such a trip. She makes me laugh every day and it such a joy. I smother this one in kisses and hugs for sure!

Angel House Celebrates 3 Year Anniversary

Angel House, where our daughter Grace was for 20 months of her life, who we believed saved her life will hold their 3 year celebration party this month to show appreciation to all their donors, volunteers and supporters over the past 3 years.

They have helped a total of 72 children from several days old to 6 years old all born with special needs ranging from heart problems, cleft lip and palate, imperforated anus, meningocele, clubfeet, undeveloped body parts, cerebral palsy and other needs such as our daughter with lymphangioma. Over the past 3 years they have helped 40 children (of which one was our Grace) with 51 surgeries (2 of which were Grace's). There are 26 children that have been helped through these surgeries as a success (Grace another one of these testimonies!). There have been 24 children adopted (praise God!) and are starting fresh new lives with loving families. Sadly, they have had 8 children pass away but these wonderful people have loved them to Jesus's very arms.

All of the expenses from nutrition, surgery, foster care for these children have been come through donations. To show these donors the value of their support the Angel House requested we, along with other parents who have adopted children from Angel House, put together a video of our Grace and for us to say a few words for them to share. Jonathon - Sushi - Wasabi and $100......

Well we went to dinner at Tsunami tonight for Jonathon's birthday. Tons of fun as it always is when my family gets together. Of course we all ate way too much, they sang Jonathon happy birthday in Japanese and he got his favorite cheesecake and presents. But this night Fred and Jerry topped it off with a $100 bet that Jonathon would not eat a big piece of sushi with a huge piece of wasabi on it....of course he was told if he ate it that he would pay for it...the teasing was on he was told not to trust a fart tomorrow and that his bottom would be on fire from the wasabi....we got a lot of laughs. Jonathon took on the bet. He put it in his mouth but after at least 5 minutes he could not swallow it. The gagging started and out it came....bye bye to the $100, some things just not worth it. He tried and got $20 for his effort. I told him this would not be the first time he walked away from money in life, good life lesson I would say.... Enjoy the photos - hysterical....

Random Shots From the Week...

Well this week was pretty much week as usual with normal every day routine. Continue to plug along with getting ready for Christmas and feeling a little more in the Christmas spirit the closer I get to done with the shopping and all other things to get ready for the big day!

I will say my oldest, Jonathon turned 16 today so was a big, big day for him. He got his car a few weeks ago so big gift this year! We celebrated with church, an afternoon at the movies and now headed off to Tsunami (Japanese!) for dinner with Mom, Kelly and the whole gang of family! Good times...

I will leave you for now with some photos that are sure to leave you with a smile on your face and maybe even a good belly laugh. The first shot is precious as I walked in with Grace having pushed her chair right up to the Christmas tree and just gazing upon it.

The other 3 well, many would not post these, but what the hey! As I was folding laundry Grace proceeded to pull out a pair of my panties and try them on...she is checking herself out quit proud, I had to pull out the camera...I promise they are not granny panties, but on her they sure do look like it - hysterical right?
